Networking Workshop on User- and Eco-friendly Travelling Solutions
PEACOX organised an expert workshop for dialog and discussion with key experts, interested scientists and researchers who work in related projects funded by EU FP7 ICT 2011: 6.6 (Low carbon multi-modal mobility and freight transport).
FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITIES
As a follow-up, we will publish the list of participants and the projects presented. We are also working on a common book publication about the topic. If you are interested in participating or just want to know more about the project or the workshop, please refer to the participating projects or the presentations given during the workshop .
AIM AND CONTENT OF WORKSHOP
The aim of the workshop was to share experience, to discuss and work together on the following topics:
- Usability of traffic information systems
- Future challenges and directions in ICT-based navigation and transport systems
- Requirements and environmentally awareness in travel contexts.
- Possibilties for reducing environmental impact of personal transportation
- Platform architectures
- A common book publication
WORKSHOP LOCATION AND ORGANISATION
The 1-day workshop took place in Vienna on Wednesday, 24 October 2012 from 10:30 – 17:00 o’clock. The gathering was held during the ITS World Congress in Vienna (http://www.itsworldcongress.at/) and was located near that Congress. Participants had the possibility to take part in the workshop and also visit the ITS World Congress.
